Find out about claims involving defective and tainted drywall materials
Is Chinese Drywall Making People Sick and Damaging Homes?
Currently, the field of drywall class action lawsuits is still in its infancy as claims and suits are being filed regarding defective sheetrock used in construction, primarily in Florida, Louisiana, Arizona, Nevada, and California from 2004-2006. However, this drywall may have been used in construction projects nationwide. In humid areas, drywall may be releasing toxic sulfur compounds that are allegedly causing health problems. At the same time, physical evidence of chemical problems is found in black corrosion on copper wiring and air conditioning coils, and it is widely believed that compounds which can corrode copper can also cause health problems. Many people in affected homes claim that there is a rotten egg smell associated with the bad drywall. Many companies are also setting up Chinese Drywall Testing protocols which can be used in lawsuits, and to prove that the drywall is bad (note that not all Chinese Drywall is defective or dangerous.
